260 Vehicles in East Jakarta Undergo Emission Tests

Some 260 vehicles underwent a free emission test held at Pulogadung GOR, Jalan Pemuda Rawamangun, Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

Asep Kuswanto, Agency Head of Environment (LH) expressed it was conducted in conjunction with the Covid-19 vaccination service held by the Jakarta administration with the army, police, and Tv One.

"It aims to make them aware of the obligation to undergo emission tests. Our target is individual passenger cars and motorcycles," he stated.

Of 260 vehicles tested, 115 were cars and 145 were motorcycles.

"Vehicles that do not pass the test must have their engine serviced at the nearest authorized repair shop," he stressed.

Environmental Pollution Control Division Head, Tiyana Brotoadi added the test involved around 30 officers with seven tools.

"Those vehicles tested have been recorded and its execution is set to avoid the queue," he concluded.

Last year, he added, about 482,027 vehicles or 4.5 percent had undergone the emission test.

"In total, there are 93 workshops with 970 mechanics in Jakarta that have undergone the test," he stated.
